The Quick and the SCANZ

Wellington Section followed tradition by holding its Indoor Go-Kart meet
in June.
Once again The Stratmore team might as well not have brought the championship cup along,
because they ended up taking it home again after the Hutt 2003, with Hamish winning
outright and taking the honours for fastest lap. Paul Godfrey won the prize for driving
the second fastest lap.
With a field of only thirteen the race was this year fought between
individuals instead of teams of two.
Danusia Wypych, pictured here with the
nights other new member representative Dougal Hamilton, received the prize for most
courteous driver.
Duncan Hendersons prize for the driver who completed the least number of laps was
withdrawn when it was pointed out some-one else would have to drink it for him.
At the post-prize-giving barbecue no-one mentioned that National President Brian
Hamilton had called in sick well before the event, or that chef Alan Thorburn had followed
suit earlier in the day.
