Welcome Function – 5.30pm, Wednesday 28 August

The convention starts with a Welcome Function in Rydges Latimer for all delegates and partners. This is an excellent opportunity to catch up with old friends as well as network with those we may only meet once a year. Drinks and Nibbles will be served, and our President will welcome everyone before we head off to the Quiz Night.
Quiz Night – 7pm, Wednesday 28 August

The Quiz Night has now become one of the most enjoyable aspects of the convention, with people forming their teams well before they arrive in Christchurch. This is a hotly competitive and fun night, and the questions ensure that no-one has an advantage!

Brenntag has been running this event since 2013 and it just keeps getting better! The Quiz starts at 7pm and will run for around 2 hours. Food is provided to keep the brain cells working.

Special thanks to Brenntag for sponsoring, organising and running this fantastic event!
Convention Dinner – 6.30pm, Thursday 29 August

“Shaken, not Stirred”
After a full day’s sessions, we move onto the Convention Dinner, which will be held just up the road at the Cardboard Cathedral, or more officially called the Transitional Cathedral. This is a stunning location, full of colour and creativity.

The theme “Shaken, not Stirred” can be taken however you want, with the first idea that comes to mind being “Bond, James Bond”. 007 gives freedom for all sorts of outfits, starting of course with the stunning black or white tux, amazing cocktail and ball dresses through to every outfit ever seen in a bond film from 1962 to today … just remember that the weather in Christchurch ranges from 3 – 15°C so you may want to rethink the iconic swimming shorts and bikinis! There will, of course, be prizes for the best outfits, names, and maybe also to the best ‘hidden’ weapons.

There will, of course, be the yearly update by our President, Tom Hackney, along with any official presentations and awards given out at that time.
Entertainment for the night - HEADRUSH

Headrush are Antony Pickard, Luke Smillie, Stephen McDaid and Andy Genge – the Christchurch based four piece covers band that powers through the hits, the dance grooves, and the songs you know and love!

Headrush perform in all musical styles from the fifties to the future. With close to 100 years of combined performance, there will be some outstanding entertainment by experienced and quality professional musicians armed with an incredible repertoire.

These players can tailor their show to suit our event, so be prepared for a fantastic night of music just right for getting up and dancing.

All four multi-instrumentalists have a breadth of musical knowledge that spans the chart toppers, from country, soul, blues, jazz, progressive rock, soul, fusion and pop.
