Anu Abhyankar - Winstone Wallboards

ABSTRACT
We in NZ love to have a monolithic finish to our interior walls. We take pride to get the surface smooth and blemish free under the desired lighting for the area. Our standards are high. If something does not go to plan, then we are not happy and complain.
We are here in Christchurch, so it is apt to describe some common failures that occurred with the earthquakes. Guidelines for remedial work are discussed.
The manufacturers of wallboards, stopping compounds and paints all work together to help their customers get what they desire. Explained in this presentation are some case studies that hopefully will interest the wider audience.

Anu has been with Winstone Wallboards Ltd. for about 12 years. She brings strong R&D skills from her academic background having a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Auckland. Anu works in analysing new and different raw materials to help improve the performance of current products. Her primary focus is on developing Jointing compounds – both plaster based and ready-mixed, to cater to the changing needs of the customers.
