Why measure viscosity in-line?ABSTRACT
In-line viscosity measurement provides a high level of process control. This is certainly a benefit when we are dealing with those processes that are difficult to sample and for which stability, repeatability and sensitivity to changes in viscosity are critical.
In such circumstances, real-time measurement allows timely intervention resulting in improvements in both productivity and quality. The improvements in efficiency can yield a return on the investment in only a few months. A range of sensors is available for different applications and we will explore some of the key criteria for selection.
