SCANZ warmly invites our members, as well as ACA members, friends, family and work colleagues to an unforgettable experience at MOTAT's multi-award-winning Aviation Hall. 

This enriching tour offers you the chance to explore a remarkable collection of recreational, military, topdressing, and commercial aircraft. 

The collection not only boasts of astonishing technology but also celebrates the evolution of New Zealand aviation since Vivian Walsh's pioneering flight in a British Howard Wright biplane back in February 1911.

Come along and enjoy an excusive tour that is not available to the general public.  We have tour guides who will includes aspects of how they maintain the planes, including their paint and protective coatings.

Highlights of the Collection:

• Vivian Walsh's contribution to the beginnings of New Zealand aviation.
• The illustrious Solent and Sunderland Flying Boats.
• The iconic Lancaster bomber

Following the tour, we'll adjourn to Nomad Restaurant for dinner, drinks and networking.  Nomad is only 5 minutes away from MOTAT, and there is heaps of parking in the Countdown carpark.

Schedule:

4:15 pm: Assemble at MOTAT’s Aviation Display Hall entrance

4:30 pm: Welcome and Introduction

6:00 pm: Tour Concludes

6:30 pm: Dinner at Nomad Restaurant, 5 Point Chevalier Road, Auckland.
